This entry is a little bit more of a personal growth piece rather than industry focused. That being said, I think that the way we navigate/ grow in our career life comes from how we push ourselves personally.
Journal daily -- Journaling is my favorite activity ever. Last year, I had a goal to journal at least four times a week, which pushed me to write more. I wanted to continue with that growth and kick it up to once a day.
Less mindless spending -- I have recently (5 days ago) begun a spending cleanse. I was inspired by my roommate and a very good friend who started this a few weeks befor me. So I decided to join them. I am an impulse buyer and love to shop and browse, so I need to learn to start considering my purchases. SOOOO I am making myself quit cold turkey for the next 2 months :((
Eliminate buying fast fashion -- I feel like, in the past 2/3 years, I have been turned off from fast fashion brands. But, still, I did not do much actually to implement a personal change. So, I wanted to challenge myself because I feel very compelled to reach this goal. I want to talk about fast fashion further in depth because it is something I have become interested in.
Slow down throughout the day -- A lot of my anxiety comes from feeling so rushed throughout the day for no reason. Even the tasks/ activities I enjoy I race through. I want to become better about taking my time and not feeling like I have to hurry through my day.
Pray more -- I have always believed that having a prayer life where you intentionally take time out of your day to talk to God is essential for personal growth. That being said, I have been slacking in this area of my walk with Christ.
Focus on 1 project a month to pour into - I added this to my list because it will push me to complete more projects that take time. Therefore, I can't RUSH through them. I also wanna make myself document those projects so be on the lookout for those!!
Complete a 10k -- This was one of my goals for last year, and I did complete 10ks on personal runs, but I would love to do an organized 10k race.
Read 1 book a month- I need to read way more than I do.
Combat my imposter syndrome -- It is something most people in their early 20s struggle with. Every time I talk to one of my friends in the same stage of life as me about work, imposter syndrome always makes its way into the conversation. Whoever I am talking to, we are both shocked that the other person feels insecure about it too. That being said, I want to go into further detail about this in another post because it is so prevalent. If you are struggling with something, leave me a message on your thoughts or what you'd like to hear about it.
Leave behind my scarcity mindset -- This goes along with goal #2. I constantly feel the urge that there's not enough or I need/ want more. This is so odd because I feel incredibly blessed with what I have. It is a terrible mindset I fall into that I need to train my brain to get out of. That being said, I do want to revisit this in a later post.
Drop comments below of goals you hope to accomplish this next year:)!!
